The Albaugh Paranick Charitable Fund was established to provide support for a variety of charitable purposes primarily benefiting Venango County.
The Allegheny Valley Trails Association established this endowment to strengthen the regions rails to trails projects, organizations and programs.The endowment that will enable donors to promote, build and sustain a growing network of recreation trails and provide a permanent and growing endowment for Allegheny Valley Trails Association.The Fund will be used to:Provide the opportunity for residents to contribute to a permanent Fund that will support and sustain existing recreation trails in the region; Maintain and improve existing recreation trails;Acquire new right-of-way or properties for new trails;Construction and/or improvements needed to open new trails andPromote the use and public support of rails to trails in the Allegheny Valley Region.
The Autism Stands fund is for holding the financial resources for the Autism Walks project to raise awareness for issues relating to autism in Venango County.
The Ben Franklin Trust Fund was established as a field of interest Fund in the Venango Area Community Foundation by a grant from the Ben Franklin Trust in 1993. The Venango Area Community Foundations Distribution Committee is to decide on the use of income from the Ben Franklin Trust Fund based upon current needs in Venango County and Northwest Pennsylvania that would be appropriate to award grants from a Fund in memory of Ben Franklin. Caring for the Caregiver Jackie’s Chapter is a support organization under the Venango Area Community Foundation. Caring for the Caregiver was created to be a living, active memorial to our beloved Venango County caregiver, Jackie Runge whose life and caring spirit was truly inspirational. Jackies Chapter exists to meet the needs of Venango County caregivers by providing funds and other types of support to address their individual and collective needs from the perspective of a “whole” being –physical, emotional and spiritual. The Caregiver Fund is an opportunity for the people of Venango County to contribute to the support of Jackie’s Chapter. The Caregiver Fund will be used to:Provide the opportunity for Venango County residents to contribute to the future of and the caring purposes served by Jackie’s Chapter;Show community leadership and shared commitment to our caregivers by being there for them in their time of need;Enable an expanding number of persons from all walks of life to participate by sharing the concept of Caring for the Caregivers -Jackie’s Chapter; Work in cooperation with other agencies and groups which have a kindred purpose and receive, maintain, and accept as assets, any property, whether real, personal or mixed, by way of gift, bequest, devise, or purchase from any person, firm, trust, or corporation to be used for the purposes of Jackie’s Chapter.
This donor designated fund was established with two missions: 1)To provide aid and assistance to individual(s) residing in Venango County, Pennsylvania; who are veterans of the United States Armed Forces and who have experienced or require one or more of the following: economic distress, natural disaster, catastrophic loss, sudden loss of income, handicapped access, transportation, or emergency dental care; and 2)Toprovide financial assistance to the Shriners Hospital for Children of Erie, Pennsylvania.
The Charles E. and Eleanor T, Stubler Memorial Fund is a donor designated fund that will support various charitable cause in Venango County in memory of Charles E. and Eleanor T, Stubler.
The Chicken Coop-Studio 306 Fund was established to support the furtherance of the Projects mission. The mission of Chicken Coop-Studio 306 is to unify our small towns in the Allegheny-Clarion River Valley by organizing our artistic endeavors and the many talents our residents possess.This non-profit organization will encourage both young and old alike to share their skills and abilities on a small town, family, and community level. To do this the Chicken Coop will promote creativity, critical thinking, education, and any other outlet, within reason, to better enhance the communities. Community outreach would be in the form of workshops open to the public, local and traveling, as well as a yearly event showcasing the previous years works and efforts. The core group members will share responsibilities and duties to establish a sense of community with a common goal: to unify.
The Child Development Centers Endowment was established to accept and generate funds to improve and enhance the programs provided by Child Development Centers of Venango County, a non-profit organization. The Child Development Centers Endowment Fund was established to provide a permanent and growing endowment for Child Development Centers located in Venango County, Pennsylvania. The Community Services of Venango County Endowment was established to accept and generate funds to improve and enhance the programs provided by Community Services of Venango County, a non-profit organization. Community Services ofVenango County is dedicated to improving the lives of Venango County residents. The Community Services Endowment Fund was established to provide a permanent and growing endowment for Community Services of Venango County.
The Fund shall be used to meet the operational and capital needs that further the not-for-profit mission of the Cooperstown Public Library.
To provide unrestricted income to the ongoing operations of the DeBence Antique Music World Museum.
The Focus on Our Future Collaborative Board established the Focus on Our Future Fund in 2000 to support the ongoing process to initiate and improve prevention programs and initiatives in Venango County. This Fund is to support the vision that: We in our community will all work in concert and the capstone value will be the nurture of Families and children. The Franklin Civic Operetta Association Fund was established in 2017 to maintain the operations of the Barrow-Civic Theatre.
The Franklin Public Library Endowment is a Fund within the Foundation to accept and generate funds to insure and to enhance the growth of Library programs and services for the betterment of area communities. The Endowment Fund provides the opportunity for the people of Franklinto contribute to the support and renewal of Franklin Public Library services, programs and facilities.The Fund is used to:Provide the opportunity for residents to contribute to the future of the Library and the educational and cultural purposes served by the Library; Instill a sense of pride and commitment by Library patrons;Enhance existing Library services; Support new Library services or initiatives andPreserve the quality services and facilities that are our Library heritage.
This donor designated fund was established to be devoted to the benefit of underprivileged, orphaned, dependent, neglected, delinquent and disadvantaged children first in the Cooperstown Borough, then in Utica Borough, Jackson Township and Canal Township inVenango County, Pennsylvania; and then within a five (5) mile radius thereof.
This discretionary fund, established in June of 1976, was the first Fund created in the Venango Area Community Foundation. Four gifts to the Community Foundation by Galena Rew Harrington and Mary E. Rew inaugurated this discretionary fund. As a discretionary fund the Community Foundation Board and Foundation Distribution Committee may decide upon the use of this Fund.
GEMS stand for Girls Excelling in Math and Science, and STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. As you can see, there is a great deal of overlap. We want to see more children, and especially more girls, in these fields. Thats what GEMS is all about.
The Glen L. Mohnkern Newsroom Fund was established to honor Glens commitment to journalism;to ethics and integrity;to Oil City, his hometown;and to the cultivation of future lovers of the news. Glen was a mentor to those he worked with in his many years at The Derrick. This Fund will serve as a continuation of that cultivation and mentorship by providing opportunities for students interested in journalism and the dissemination of information.

The Imagine Franklin Legacy Fund was established by Dr. Stephen and Marie Cenedella, who wanted to leave something to a community that, in their words, “gave them far more than they could ever give to it.” This Fund supports Franklin’s economic progress while sustaining its beloved cultural and historical character.

A gift from Mr. and Mrs. Carl Heinz was added to the Endowment. The scholarships will be awarded to students who plan to attend accredited colleges or universities and who have overcome adversity in their lives and sustained positive attitudes.

The Alexander Bud Marks Scholarship was established by Ardelle Marks in memory of her late husband in 2013. The following is the purposes of this scholarship:A.To provide an annual scholarship to a student that has graduated from Oil City High School or successorB.To provide a scholarship for students that have graduated from Oil City High School who are attending Venango College (for Sophomore year) for Business or related field in their second and/or third year (Sophomore and Junior years respectively) and have plans to attend Clarion University MainCampus. C.If a student received this scholarship their Sophomore year and they move on to Clarion University main campus,they may reapply and be an eligible recipient
The Alfreda Kurtich Memorial Nursing Scholarship was established by John Kurtich to honor the memory of his wife Alfreda Kurtich, a woman of great faith and integrity who dedicated her life to working as a Registered Nurse, primarily in Pediatrics, by providing scholarships to students pursuing a career as a Registered Nurse.
The Anna M. Ewalt Scholastic Fund was established to honor the memory of Anna M. Ewalt, Franklin High School Class of 1923, and elementary teacher for 44 years. The purpose of the Fund is:To exalt the teaching profession to the young people of Franklin High School andTo provide an annual award to the Franklin High School graduating senior who ranks the highest academically.
The Bill Anthony Memorial Scholarship was established to honor the life of Bill Anthony, a Pleasantville, Pennsylvania resident and a longtime Zem Zem Shriner. The Fund shall providean annual scholarship of at least $500.00to a studentwho would like to further their studies in any field.

Established in the Trust Agreement of Chester A. Baum in 1981 the Baum Scholarships are for students currently graduating from Cranberry Area High School. The Baum Memorial Scholarship is a one-yearscholarship awarded based upon to financial need. The Scholarships are awarded to students planning to attend colleges, universities, or trade schools, nursing schools, or business colleges. The Baum Scholarship Committee considers scholastic achievement, test scores, and participation in school and community activities when selecting scholarship recipients.
The purpose of the Fund shall be to honor and the memory of Steven B. Rood by providing an annual scholarship basedon the following criteria: The award will be made to one (1) female and one (1) male Venango Countygraduating senior;The recipients must be students that are graduating seniors at Venango County high schools and have been enrolled at a Venango County high school for at least three (3) years prior to graduating;The recipients should exhibit characteristics of leadership, work ethic, commitment, and sportsmanship in the areas of athletic programs, extra-curricular activities, and community involvement;The scholarships awards will be for one year.The scholarships will be awarded in amounts of at least $500 each for one year, based upon the availability of funds as determined by the scholarship committee.This scholarship award will be granted only to persons who attend an accredited post-secondary certificate program, technical school, vocational school, trade school, or college that is less than a four (4) year program (i.e. a non-baccalaureate program). The Frances Jones Weber Scholarship has been established by Presbyterian Women of Second Presbyterian Church, Oil City, PA to honor the dedication and service of Frances J. DONATE TO THIS FUNDThe James D. Schwab Scholarship Fund was established at the direction of Dr. Schwab as he was a strong proponent of continuing education. Further, he wanted to provide an opportunity to a deserving youth from his home area at a university where he got his start. Growing up in Fertigs, he was the 4th of 5 children, beginning his education in a one-room school house in that community. He is a 1944 graduate of Cranberry Area High School and subsequently received his BS from Clarion University and his Masters of Education from the University of Pittsburgh. He completed further graduate-level study at the University of Pittsburgh, Westminster College, and the Pennsylvania State University, which contributed to his earning a Doctor of Philosophy degree in 1979 at the University of Delaware through Walden University. Dr. Schwab started his professional career in education at the West Hickory Elementary School in 1950. Subsequently, he was on the faculty of the Cranberry Area School District, where he taught elementary and secondary classes, and later served as Supervisor of Elementary Schools for 5 years. He joined the Oil City Area School District in 1960 as a Junior High School Counselor. Following that, he served as Assistant Senior High School Principal for 5 years, and then as Director of Guidance for 15 1/2 years – the position he held until his retirement in 1986. As a lifelong resident, he was extremely proud of the local area and displayed that fact by participating in various boards and community organizations. In conjunction with this, he continued to be a strong supporter of Clarion University, serving on the Advisory Council at Venango College and was the recipient of Clarion University’s “Distinguished Volunteer” award in 1998.

The eligibility requirements for this scholarship include: residency in Venango County, PA for at least two years prior to application, graduation from high school, applicant must be pursuing an associate or bachelors degree in the Venango Campus of Clarion University of Pennsylvania Applied Technology Program, and have completed at least six (6) credits or two courses of the AT Program with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0, completion of any required internship or relevant work experience with a company located in Venango County, PA, begin employment in Venango County within six (6) monthsafter completion of studies and remain employed in Venango County one year for each year that the scholarship was awarded, and finally, apply for a Federal Pell grant and Pennsylvania State Grant.

The Venus Telephone Corporation Scholarship is for graduating seniors from Cranberry Area High School planning to enroll in college and who live in the Venus Telephone Corporation Service Area (354-xxxx). This is a one-yearscholarship. Applicants must apply for a Baum Scholarship to be eligible for the Venus Telephone Corporation Scholarship.
DONATE TO THIS FUNDEstablished under the Will of Vera A. Lamey this scholarship is for worthy students from the senior class at the Oil City Area High School. Scholarships are awarded to students planning to attend colleges, universities, technical or trade schools, nursing schools, or business colleges or other job related education or training. The Foundation Distribution Committee is to select financial needy students that hold promise for academic and personal achievement and success in their endeavors. Using the discretion allowed the distribution committee has decided that the Lamey Scholarship will be used to assist students facing special challenges and provide scholarships that will complete the financial aid needed for a student to attend a school for up to four years.

As a donor advised Fund the Fabry Family advises the Venango Community Foundation at least annually about the award of grants from the Fabry Fund.

The will of Julia A. Smith calls for two permanent Funds. The Wood-Noble Memorial Scholarship Fund–Honors the ancestors of Julia A. Smith, Barnard Wood and Mark Noble. The Wood-Noble Scholarship is given annually to the students from the Franklin and Rocky Grove High Schools who are awarded the Good Citizens Award and the American History Award presented annually by the Venango Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution.The Scholarships provide financial aid in the event that the Award winners desire to go to college, university, technical or trade school, nursing school or Business College.

The will of Julia A. Smith calls for two permanent Funds. The Young Wood Scholarship Fund–Scholarship applicants must be high school students from any high school located in Venango County who are planning to attend an educational institution beyond high school. The applicants must be students that had grades in the upper twenty (20%) percent of their high school class for at least two years prior to their graduationfrom high school. Scholarship applicants are to be selected from an economic group who otherwise might not be able to attend an institution of higher learning.
